When 20-year-old Jessica Mucci was selected to throw the first pitch at a Rochester Red Wings game, she thought it was thanks to sheer luck. Little did she know, she was about to receive the surprise of a lifetime.
Jessica’s brother, Corporal Nicholas Mucci, has served in the Marines for three and a half years, and for the past seven months, he’s been away from home while deployed in Afghanistan and stationed in California. So imagine Jessica’s shock when the catcher at the game removed his face mask and revealed himself to be her big brother! I don’t think I’ve cried this much over a video since I saw this soldier surprise his mom with a homecoming she’ll never forget!
I can only imagine how Jessica must have felt the moment she realized who was standing in front of her. It’s so hard having your loved ones far away from you, especially for so long. It’s just one of the many reasons why members of our military and their families are truly some of the strongest, most resilient people on the planet. But even though it’s so touch to be away from the ones you love most, moments such as this tear-jerking reunion between a little girl and her military dad are made even more special.
Nicholas will only be home for two weeks, but you can bet he’ll be spending most of his time here with his loving sister. I’m so happy that these siblings were able to be reunited in such a heartwarming way!
These reunions always make me cry like a baby. If you love them, too, don’t forget to SHARE this video with everyone you know to show your support for our troops!
